Ginger Hallmark, Administrator

Ginger Hallmark  graduated from Auburn University with a BS and MS in Agricultural Economics with a focus on Economic Development. Ginger worked for five years as a grant writer for local governments. In 2011, she started Discovery Christian School, a homeschool cover school that is now serving over 250 families in the Auburn-Opelika area.  In 2018, she helped launch The Oaks School.  Ginger is passionate about creating a school culture where students feel loved and cared for, while being challenged to excel in their God-given strengths.

  

Ginger and her husband, Josh, pastor The Oaks Church and own a real estate company in Florida. She has four children who also attend The Oaks School.

Joanna Champagne, K4 & K5 Kindergarten

 

With a background in music and theatre, Miss Joanna brings our K4 and K5 classroom to life with music and song!  Students learn weekly Bible verses through daily practice with music and hand motions. Miss Joanna is an incredible phonics teacher and is passionate about helping children learn to love reading.  She has one son Elijah and lives in Opelika.

Cathy Wiggins, 1st Grade

Meet Cathy Wiggins, this will be Mrs. Cathy’s second year with us at the Oaks. She has taught for the last 25 years in both Russell County Schools and Lee County Schools. She is a graduate of Beauregard High School, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Auburn University at Montgomery.


Cathy has been married to Carl Wiggins for 30 years. They are the proud parents of 3 children, Josie (16), Stewart (14), and Catherine (12). Her family has been active members of Providence Baptist Church for 36 years.


Cathy enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, biking, swimming, riding 4-wheelers, riding their horses and camping. She also loves to bake. One of her specialties, pound cake, is a highly sought after treat. Cathy also finds great joy in volunteering to help those in need.

We love her so much and can't wait for her to teach our sweet first graders again this fall.

Ashley Jeffares, 2nd Grade

 

Ashley Jeffares is from from Reeltown, AL, where she graduated from high school in 2002. She attended Southern Union with a scholarship and then transferred to Troy University main campus where I received her B.S. in K-6 Elementary and Collaborative Education. She returned to Troy after her teaching career began and received her Masters in K-6 Elementary Education. Ashley taught at Beauregard Elementary for 11 years, teaching all subjects in 3rd grade. She and her husband, Tony have been married for 12 years. The Lord has blessed them with three beautiful, little girls, Kelsi, Klaira, and Kendall. She enjoys reading, going to the lake or the beach, and just being outdoors in general. Ashely will be teaching for her third year at The Oaks.

Sharon Harper, 3-4th Grade

Sharon Harper graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She taught second and third grade at Eastside School in Chambers County, then homeschooled her children for a total of 16 years. 


Sharon lives in Notasulga, Alabama, has five children and six grandchildren. Her family and attends First Baptist Church Reeltown where she is the church pianist, and also teaches first and second grade Sunday School. Mrs. Sharon enjoys spending time with family and friends. 


This will be her second year teaching at The Oaks, and we are fortunate to have her as a part of The Oaks Family.

Diane Yockachonis, 6th Math & 5-7th History

Diane Yockachonis graduated Cum Laude from Auburn University in the School of Education back in 2000.  After homeschooling her son, Gabriel, she began teaching private classes ranging from the topics of Sign Language, French, and Anatomy. She homeschooled their son from the beginning until enrolling at The Oaks School for the launch year. Diane now teaches  5-7th grade history and 6th grade math.

Addie Hill, 7th English, 1st-4th Art

Addie Hill is from Jasper, AL where she graduated from Walker High School in 1997.  She attended Auburn University and graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in secondary education, English and Spanish in 2001. She taught Language Arts at Drake Middle School from 2002 to 2011.  Addie and her husband, Brandon, have been married for fourteen years and have three amazing children, Holden, Scarlett and Wylder. She enjoys running, oil painting, and reading. She looks forward to exploring, learning, and growing in Christ with your children this year!

Anna Senn, 6th, 7th, 9-11th Science, 8th Language Arts

Meet Anna Senn! She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University with a concentration in Spanish.  She has taught across a variety of subjects in many grades at both the public and private school levels. Anna loves teaching her wonderful students at The Oaks and enjoys coaching the cheerleaders. She is known for her fun, energetic teaching style and kinetic teaching techniques. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, interior design, and spending time with her family!

Dr. Eric Senn, Anatomy 10-12th

 

Dr. Eric Senn is excited about teaching Anatomy and Physiology at The Oaks for the upcoming school year! Dr. Senn earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from Samford University before going on to earn his Doctorate in Medicine in Florida. He completed his physician internship and residency in Georgia, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He serves as the Medical Director of Southern Union’s EMT/Paramedics program and also trains 4th year medical students for the medical school at Auburn University’s VCOM. He has taught almost every age and level of student in some capacity for the last 10 years. Dr. Senn has a passion for training high school students for college and graduate studies, with a particular interest in inviting classroom freedom across multiple learning styles to encourage every student to love and pursue God and learning. In his spare time, he enjoys music, art, great movies, crime podcasts and is the 2-time defending champion of his Fantasy Football League.

Doug Reynolds, 8th Grade History, US Government & Economics

Doug pursued a career in education after retiring as an officer in the Army. His bachelors and master’s degrees are from the University of South Carolina and LSU, respectively. He has experience teaching at the high school level and has served as an academic dean for a private school. Doug currently teaches history at Southern Union Community College. He and his wife Charissa live in Dadeville and have three kids: two sons Tyler and Cody and daughter Launa. We are also excited about having Doug’s daughter Launa at The Oaks School. Doug has also been a great help with our accreditation through the AISA and Cognia.

Kellie Heidt, 7 Math & Pre-Algebra, 10-12th Language Arts

Kellie Heidt will be teaching Middle School math and High School language arts this year. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Auburn University with a degree in International Studies and German. Kellie spent 25 years as a military wife while her husband served in the US Navy as an F 18 pilot. They have lived and traveled in many places, but now call the Auburn/Opelika area home. She has two precious children, William, 22, and Caroline, 17. Through the years, Kellie has taught different subjects in numerous Co-ops and Classical Conversations. She enjoys travel, reading, and spending time at Lake Martin.

Charissa Reynolds, Physical Science, Spanish II, Career Counseling

Charissa Reynolds is a mother of 2 adult boys and 1 daughter. She is blissfully married to Doug Reynolds. Graduate of San Diego state with a BS in Health Science, Minor in Geriatrics. ADN. Graduate of Army school of Protocol. She has been involved with education for 23 years. While traveling with her Military family, she taught Conversational English, Cultural studies, Resilience training, grief counseling and social and dining Etiquette. She was a Co-op homeschool teacher for Biology, chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, speech and Cultural/ Sociology studies. She has enjoyed being a high school College/ Career counselor for the past 5 years.

Amy Hendrix, 5th Grade Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Carrer Prep (9th)

 Amy Hendrix graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Math and a Master’s Degree in Education. Before teaching Algebra at The Oaks, she homeschooled her four children (Harper, Camp, Ann Langston, and Jack) for 6 years. She and Todd have been married for 12 years and have lived in Auburn the entire time. They’re members of Grace Heritage Church.

Broderick Huskey, Athletic Director, Strength and Agility Training

Brody Huskey is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. He has a bachelors degree from Berry College and a masters degree from Columbus State University. He has been involved in athletics through participation during high school and college, and he is very excited to be helping out with athletics and sports training here at The Oaks School.
